nostalgia

remember the good ol' days? today i discussed Powerpuff Girls with two of my guy friends. moments later i was engulfed in a debacle over Power Rangers.(which were boys? which were girls? which was the best?..does it even matter?. . .the blue one. the blue one is the best. so there.)

Myself-- "i have something of yours.."

Quinton--"Harpie's Brother?", this was in reference to a Yugio card left in a book he had borrow a few months ago..

Myself-- "How'd you guess?!?"

Quinton--"It was my favorite Yugio card.. and my book mark."

you see? Nostalgia is one of those things you never quite out grow.. think about it.. Sega, Zelda, Pokemon, Mario Kart, 98*..

Nostalgia is timeless :)

A Dead Poets Society

The whole point is, we all die at some point. It's unavoidable. So, CARPE DIEM. Seize the day, right? So why don't we? I mean.. how hard could it be? VERY. Live every day as if it were your last.. One problem, it isn't. It's fun to pretend, sure. But there are consequences.

SENARIO: I carpe diem.. walk up to. . . (we'll call him Mr. So-and-so..) Anyways.. I grab him by the hand and kiss him.. PROBLEM. This little thing called, the next day. Don't get me wrong, i'm all for Carpe Diem but

. . . it sounds like a fish.

Anyway, I decided I aught to actually, you know.. seize the day rather than just walk around saying, "carpe diem!!" because it sounds cool. And let's face it, it's fun to say, but it can really make you feel like a hypocrit.

Example--
Teacher: And remember kids, CARPE DIEM! *goes home.. raids fridge. grabs a pint of triple fudgey bluebell icecream and watches pretty woman. again. repeat as necessary.*

But I digress. hypocrisy isn't really anything new, is it now?
